Project Analysis
Due to age and heavy foot traffic, we were contracted to replace the roofing system for the Vitamin Shoppe at the Palm Point Shoppes located off of South Cleveland Avenue in Fort Myers, Florida. Once mobilized, we began by removing the existing TPO membrane, flashings, and scuppers.
The existing 3″ ISO insulation was left in place, and any damaged insulation was replaced accordingly. Tapered crickets were also left in place between the scuppers to promote positive drainage.
The Solution
A Carlisle 60 mil white TPO single-ply membrane roofing system was installed per Florida Product Approval requirements. Walkway pads were fixed at roof access areas, and where mechanical equipment resided requiring service on the service side of the equipment. All penetration flashings were completed per manufacturer specifications, and the parapet walls were fully flashed up and over the top of the walls. ES-1 compliant edge metal was installed, and existing collector boxes and downspouts were reused.
Results
Our team worked systematically and efficiently to install the Carlisle roofing system on to our client’s roof. Ready to take on Southwest Florida’s harsh weather environment, this roofing system should serve the building well for years to come!
